In Memory

Jeff Trusley

I just received this message from Jeff's former wife.

I just wanted to add that Jeff was killed in car accident 2/20/1980. I was married to him and my son is Jeff Jr., his only surving child.

If any of you have memories or comments about Jeff, please contribute!  Also, if anyone has pictures of Jeff send them to Kathy Countryman Bounds and she'll add them to his page.

I first met Jeff at Davis High, I remember he had a real nice 1968 green Mustang and he was just a very sweet and shy guy. We started dating and my best memories are cruisin the Ave, and him letting me drive the Mustang before I had my license! We were married in Jan 1976 and our son, Jeff Jr was born July 1976...yep, the math is right! Oops! I was a country girl and he was a city boy..he got his first taste of riding horses, chasing escaped cows, and even joining 4-H after we were married! I remember how he loved to ride his Hodaka Super Rat dirt bike, later his Kawaski 750 that we took a lot of rides on together and he was part of Art Prall's pit crew at the Raceway. One of his unfinished projects was the 1968 Camaro that he loved so much. He was an excellent father and husband, but sadly, we seperated after a few years, but remained friends.
The night before the accident that took his life, we spent some time just talking about life, our son and the future...the next morning was a blur when I found out that he was gone. Now, almost 30 years later, he is still in my thoughts, but not in a sad way, I remember all of the crazy, silly, funny things that we shared and the son we have. I will post some more pictures and if anyone wants to share thoughts, please do, he would love it and I can share them with his son!

Jeff was my next door neighbor. Before my dad built a fence in the back, Jeff and I used to play catch in our back yards, we must have been in 6th or 7th grade. Jeff was a sweet kid!

I just always liked his friendly, easy going, accepting smile.  Ready for a good time!
