I lived in Germany from 1982 to 1986. Just before I left I met a wonderful woman, Martine, and married her. We were making our way back west nicely, first NY and than NJ, but that's as far as we got. We have lived in New Jersey for the past 17 years.
To show the west's true allure, I cite my daughter's college preferences. Here she is on the east coast, home to many fine institutions and she applies only to the west coast. My wife is a little concerned about moving so far away, but I secretly rub my hands in glee-at least one of us is on their way west.
I will make my way west for the reunion, an event I really look forward to.
